Spend a few glorious days in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho where you can have it all – hunt upland birds in the foothills of the Lost River Mountain Range, fly fish blue ribbon streams and rivers for gorgeous trout, shoot a round of sporting clays among the sage brush covered hills then after your day of adventure, enjoy a massage to nourish your mind and spirit before you experience some of the best gourmet dining and art galleries that Ketchum and Sun Valley have to offer!
This trip is designed as a CAST & BLAST ADVENTURE, but we can arrange any accommodations to make your adventure as inspiring as you wish. Catch gorgeous trout on the blue ribbon streams of Idaho. Play a round of golf while surrounded by spectacular mountains, go horseback riding on sagebrush trails, or shop for western boots and hats in Ketchum. DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1 – Arrive at Sun Valley Airport. Day one is the day you should plan to arrive at Sun Valley as the meeting point for the trip. This may require departing your hometown one or more days in advance. You will be met by on one of us at the Sun Valley airport and taken to Sun Valley Lodge. Check in and relax or if time allows, explore the village and shops, then meet our group at 6:00 pm in the Lodge for cocktails and introductions. Dinner and a brief meeting about your itinerary continue at 7:00 pm in the lodge dining room, located on the second floor.
DAY 2 – Breakfast at Sun Valley Lodge. Cast & Blast from 9:00 am to whenever – our days are tailored your specific and personal choices. During your fly fishing or wingshooting adventure you will be served an elegant streamside or field lunch complete with libation of your choice. Upon return to the lodge, indulge in your choice of spa treatment. Then take a gallery tour and meet up for dinner in Ketchum.
DAY 3– Breakfast at Sun Valley Lodge. Cast & Blast from 9:00 am to whenever – our days are tailored your specific and personal choices. During your fly fishing or wingshooting adventure you will be served an elegant streamside or field lunch complete with libation of your choice. Upon return, shop downtown Ketchum for the best western boots and hats, or shop the village of Sun Valley. Meet up for dinner in Ketchum.
DAY 4 – Brunch at Sun Valley Lodge. Your choice for the day; golf, horseback riding, shopping, hiking, walking, relax, cast, or blast, adventure…you get to pick! Lunch will be pre-arranged in harmony with your preference. Return for a spa treatment then meet up for cocktails and dinner at the Lodge.
DAY 5 – Transportation to Sun Valley Airport.
PRICE PER PERSON – $3,500*
*Price Includes – all planned meals, accommodations, all flies and shells (equipment rental is available upon request), 2 Spa Treatments, all airport and shuttle transportation, beer, wine and cocktails, guide service.
Price Does Not include – guide tips, room service and any room charges occurred, fishing and/or hunting licenses (fishing and hunting licenses are available in Ketchum), air travel, meals on arrival and departure days -- except when noted, any items of a personal nature.
WHAT TO BRING
The weather in Sun Valley is always beautiful and sunny. Bring appropriate dress to be comfortable. Ketchum and Sun Valley are sophisticated, western-style, mountain-living towns so casual dress is welcome anywhere.
For CAST & BLAST adventures we recommend:
• Orvis 5wt. rod and reel with floating line – we recommend the Orvis Zero Gravity Rod!
• Orvis Bootfoot waders or Stockingfoot waders and wading boots – please visit our SHOPPING LIST to see what we recommend and pick out the best choices for you!
• 12, 20, or 28 gauge shotgun
• Shooting vest and/ hat – for all BLAST adventures, we recommend at least 40% blaze orange on your hat and vest.
• Protective, polarized eyewear. This is required for both shooting sports and fly fishing. Polarized lenses not only cut harmful UV rays, but allow you to look into the water to see the fish you’re casting to.
• Comfortable boots with a small heal for shooting and hunting.
• Sunscreen and lip balm – it’s dry in the desert!
• Hat for fishing.
• Fleece Zip-up or Pull-over for afternoons in the field or on the river. It can get cool.
• Water proof or Gortex rain jacket.
• Any equipment or clothing suitable for other activities you’d like to engage in.
