Flyfishing at sunset

PODCASTS (Coming Summer 2007)

When I was invited to shoot a driven in Scotland, I had no idea how, exactly, to tie my flashes. Sure, I'd worn breeks and flashes in the U.S., but I'd heard stories of the unrefined American shooting in Great Britain, mercilessly ridiculed by a polished and genteel society that snickered at improper knots. Who could I ask for help? Who among my unpolished wingshooting partners would teach me such a thing? Well, it so happens that I found a podcast on the internet, believe it or not, that saved me the embarrassment of looking like a Yank. I tied the knots, rolled my shooting stockings (that's socks, where I come from) down to meet the tips of my boots, properly buttoned my bi-swing jacket and stepped immediately into a deep mud puddle...a really deep puddle, and I fell face first to the ground. Who cared about my flashes? I did. And they looked spectacular.
