Julie Zapoli currently works for The Conservation Fund and continues to guide summer fly fishing trips on remote rivers in Alaska. She worked for the Orvis Company as Midwest District Manager and created and taught fly fishing schools for the Midwest Orvis Retail Stores. Julie attended Fieldsport's Wingshooting and Advanced Wingshooting Courses and is a personal student of Chris Batha, proprietor and gun maker of Charles Boswell Guns and top Wingshooting Instructor. Julie was filmed for Chris Batha's HDTV series Wingshooting the World in Scotland in 2005. She is a member of The Huntsman Hunt Club, a private hunting club in Dryden, Michigan. She served on the non-profit board of the Emrys Foundation, which promotes excellence in the arts, especially literary, visual, and musical works by women and minorities. She was most recently published in Dallas Safari Club's, Gametrails Magazine and was runner up for her fly fishing story, Emerging, in the Loriann Hemingway short story competition. Julie is currently a licensed guide and certified fly fishing instructor. Member ATTA, FFF, Flygirls of Michigan, TU, DU, Ruffed Grouse Society, Life Member Safari Club International, Life Member Dallas Safari Club. Julie currently lives in Ketchum, Idaho, and will join KOTF as an advisor.
